FAQ

What is a Naturopath?

I am a BHSc qualified health professional that views health holistically. Naturopaths’ approach to treatment is to address the root cause of illness in the body.

The tools we use to treat clients include: herbal medicine, dietary changes, food as medicine, specific nutritional supplementation & lifestyle advice. Naturopathy aims to educate the person to look after their own health and the health of their family, minimising symptoms of any illness, supporting the body’s capacity to heal, and balancing the body so that illness is less likely to occur in the future.

Will you collaborate with my doctor?

As your naturopath, my number one priority is your health and wellbeing. This can sometimes mean that I liaise with multiple practitioners with the consent of the client. I will never ask you to stop taking medication, and will always do my due diligence when it comes to assessing herb/drug interactions. I will often send you off with a referral letter for your doctor to request pathology.

I don’t live in Sydney, can I still book an appointment?

So glad you asked… Yes!

If the service is available in your country, I use herbal dispensaries local to your area that will mix up my prescriptions for you to eliminate expensive postage fees and time delays. If you are interstate in Australia I can send you your prescriptions.

Unfortunately I can not offer consultation to residents of the United States or Canada due to insurance reasons.

How do online consultations work?

Online appointments are held via Zoom, a video meeting platform that is secure and easy to use. After booking your appointment you will receive a confirmation email that has instructions on how to meet me online. To prepare for the consultation I recommend downloading the Zoom app onto the device you are planning to use for the appointment.

Are herbal formulas and nutritional supplements included in the cost of the consultation?

No. All herbal formulas and nutritional supplements prescribed in your appointments are at an additional cost. Pricing will vary depending on what you need and I will never pressure you if there are financial constraints.

I’m interested in studying Naturopathy, where did you study and was it difficult?

I studied a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) at Endeavour College of Natural Health in Sydney. They have campuses in Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. It is a 4-year degree with a variety of subjects, some of which can be completed online. The final clinic placements are taken place in the Wellnation Student Clinic on campus.

There were some subjects that were more difficult, I am not going to lie… However when it is applied to something you are so passionate about, you end up making sense of it all. You don’t have to complete the course full time.

It is the best decision I have ever made.
